TSS entered a new chapter in August 2023 when members elected Shri Gopalakrishna V. Vaidya and team to lead the society. The transition marked a return to professional, cost-conscious governance while preserving TSS's core mission of farmer service.
2023 Transition
- •New management elected on 20 August 2023 with overwhelming majority (14–1) to Shri Gopalakrishna Vaidya and team.
- •New team took charge on 31 August 2023 — Shri Gopalakrishna V. Vaidya as Chairman and Shri M. N. Bhat as Vice Chairman.
- •Eight elected directors were already on the board and lead primary co-operative societies with decades of experience.
- •Professionals with rich experience were inducted to contribute to the new board.
- •Directors began involving themselves in day-to-day operations of the society.
- •Director groups were formed to manage different subjects.
- •Extensive measures taken to control expenditure, including selling excess vehicles that were a burden.
Management Achievements
- •Re-audit conducted after approval from the Department of Co-operative Audit, as decided by the special general body meeting in October 2023.
- •Present management maintains services and benefits to farmers as in the past.
- •Farmers continue bringing produce for tender and availing all facilities.
- •Members' deposit money with the society has increased, showing confidence in the new management.
- •Traders purchasing arecanut from TSS continue business without hindrance.
- •Bank borrowings reduced by ₹133.35 crore — from ₹308.66 crore to ₹175.31 crore through efficient, cost-effective measures.
